As a co-author of Commercial Premises Liability (Wiley Press 1990), Mr. Oliveira has written and researched extensively in the area of Premises Security.  He has also handled matters involving the failure of business establishments and landlords to take appropriate precautions to protect customers and residents from foreseeable criminal conduct.  This complex area of the law has been the subject of a number of presentations which Mr. Oliveira has given, both to law students and to members of the bar.

Mr. Oliveira has represented several national bonding companies as well as private contractors over the years with respect to contract claims involving multi-million dollar projects.  Additionally, Mr. Oliveira has served as an arbitrator and expert witness with respect to construction disputes.  This varied experience has allowed him to develop a sophisticated understanding of the various interests involved when a construction project develops problems that require the judicial system to resolve.

Mr. Oliveira has had a longstanding commitment to this serious topic.  In addition to litigating numerous cases, for both plaintiffs and defendants, in matters involving the service of alcohol to minors and to visibly intoxicated persons, Mr. Oliveira has lectured extensively to organizations and various establishments on the topic of responsible serving practices.
